The BAMU-01C is designed as a PMI regulator motherboard for the Asea Brown Boveri/Reliance Electric SA3100 series. The SA3100 AC power inverter is used in the Automax distributed power system to provide frequency conversion and voltage transformation. The BAMU-01C can communicate with the AutoMax UDC module through two fiber optic connectors located on the edge of a board. The board is also used to monitor drive operation and run motor control algorithms. Other interfaces include PMI interface connectors, AC power technology circuits, instrument ports, Flex I/O, synchronous transmission port connectors, and PMI processor circuits. The instrument ports are located within a terminal strip along one of the board edges. These can be connected to external analog devices using 14-22 AWG twisted pair (maximum length 13 feet).
