The connector on the GE Gate lead adapter board DS200GLAAG1 has a retention latch to securely secure the cable in the connector. There are guidelines to follow when inserting and pulling cables into and out of connectors with retention latches. To remove the cable, use your index finger to remove the retention latch from the top of the cable connector and ensure that it is completely away from the connector. Then, hold the connector portion of the cable with one hand and pull the cable out of the connector on the board. When unplugging cables, hold the circuit board with an idle hand to prevent it from bending or moving.

To install a cable in a connector with a fixed latch, first check the connector on the DS200GLAAG1 board, and then swing the latch from the connector. Then, align the cable with the connector and gently press it into the connector on the board. Visually inspect it to ensure that it is fully seated in the connector. Using one finger, slide the retention latch through the connector and when fully engaged, the retention latch will snap into place. Perform the same operation on the latch on the other side of the connector. To test the connection, gently pull the cable, and you will notice that the cable is not loose from the connector.
